Project Care (Call And
Report Emergencies) is a cooperative
effort between the Lea County Sheriff’s Department and the 911 Cellphone Bank Organization to provide 911 capable cellular
phones to members of our community who need them due to medical necessity or domestic violence.
We use donated cellular phones provided by members of our communities. These phones are sent to the
CellPhone Bank and reprogrammed to dial 911 only. The phones are returned to the Sheriff’s Department and given to victims
of domestic violence, the elderly and their caregivers, or families with children who suffer from serious medical challenges
who need reliable 911 capability. Each phone includes a charger and an extra battery, so no one
has to go without 911. Please donate your old cellular phone. You can drop them off at the Sheriff’s Department in Lovington at 1417
